Correction Policy

How SENSEI handles corrections, clarifications, and updates to published content.

TL;DR

  • We correct factual errors within 10 business days of verification.
  • Substantive updates add a correction notice at the top of the article.
  • The dateModified field is updated for any content change.
  • We do not retroactively alter opinions or analysis to match new events without disclosure.

1. Reporting an Error

If you believe any content on SENSEI contains a factual error, please email contact@ayoubzulfiqar.com with:

  • Article URL
  • Specific section or paragraph
  • The incorrect claim
  • Correct information with a verifiable source

2. Review Process

All correction requests are reviewed by the author within 5 business days. The review includes:

  • Verifying the claim against primary sources (vendor documentation, NIST publications, RFCs, incident reports)
  • Assessing whether the correction is factual or interpretive
  • Determining the scope of the error (isolated typo vs. systematic misstatement)

3. Correction Levels

Minor Correction

Typos, broken links, formatting errors. Fixed silently with dateModified update. No notice required.

Standard Correction

Factual errors in statistics, framework names, dates, or technical claims. Corrected in-place with an editor's note at the affected paragraph.

Major Correction

Errors that materially change the article's conclusions or recommendations. Corrected with a prominent notice at the top of the article explaining what changed and why.

4. Update Frequency

Security content degrades as frameworks, tools, and threat landscapes evolve:

  • Quarterly review: All articles are reviewed for technical accuracy every 3 months
  • Event-driven update: Major incidents, framework updates, or regulatory changes trigger immediate review
  • dateModified tracking: The dateModified field in JSON-LD Article schema is updated for any substantive change
  • Version disclosure: When an article is substantially rewritten, the original publication date is preserved and the update is noted

5. Transparency Commitments

We will not:

  • Retroactively alter opinions or analysis to match new events without clear disclosure
  • Remove articles because they contain outdated information — we update them instead
  • Accept corrections from anonymous sources without verification
